Skylar Brandt grew up in New York and trained at Scarsdale Ballet Studio. She also worked with Valentina Kozlova, Fabrice Herrault, and Susan Jaffe. She studied at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis School at American Ballet Theatre from 2005-2009, under Franco DeVita. Skylar danced at ABT’s New York Summer Intensive and was a National Training Scholar from 2006-2009. She was a two-time silver medalist at Youth America Grand Prix. She performed at the Metropolitan Opera House in the Royal Ballet’s Cinderella, ABT’s Le Corsaire, Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty, and the 2009 Spring Gala. In December 2009, she performed an excerpt from Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker at an ABT event and was invited to dance at a gala in Japan. Skylar joined ABT II in July 2009.
