Paloma Garcia-Lee is most well known be seen lighting up the stage as “Meg Giry” in “The Phantom of the Opera.” An accomplished actress, singer and dancer, she joined the Broadway show at the Majestic Theater at the young age of 17. Paloma is one of the youngest performers ever hired for the production and the youngest to ever play “Meg.” She is also the first person hired for the Broadway show to have been born after “Phantom” began its run in New York in 1988.
Raised outside of Philadelphia in Bucks County, PA, Paloma was accepted to the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts when she was 14. Paloma spent two years in the world renowned Ballet department and then graduated from the school of Drama when she was just 17. Paloma is one of only a handful of people who have been accepted into two departments at the school. She spent her summers studying with the American Ballet Theater, Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. While at the North Carolina School of the Arts, Paloma was cast as Graziella in the 50th Anniversary production of West Side Story at the famous Ravinia Festival in Chicago.
Following graduation, Paloma headed to New York and her very first audition was for the longest running Broadway show in history, “The Phantom of the Opera.” Soon after, she was asked to join the legendary Broadway company. Several months later, Paloma was invited on the record setting national tour. On her 18th birthday, she set out for Hartford, Connecticut, the first of more than 20 cities she has been to in the past 18 months.
After the curtain came down for the last time on the “Phantom” National Tour on October 31st at The Pantages Theater in Los Angeles, Paloma set out to chart the next phase of her career. With an abundance of talent, charm and drive, what comes next is sure to be spectacular. Paloma recently moved back to her home in New York and is a cast member of the Broadway production of PHANTOM.
